Print

When we print on technical textiles, it’s about more than just a design. It’s about creating clear, durable, and visually striking designs that stand up to both use and the environment. That’s why we offer several different printing methods: digital printing, screen printing, and stencil printing—and we always choose the technique that best matches the design, the fabric material, and the end product’s intended use. By tailoring both the method and the execution, we ensure a professional result with high precision and long-lasting durability. Whether it involves detailed designs, large surfaces, or durable markings, we ensure that the print becomes an integral part of the product. Below, you can read more about our various printing methods and how they are used to create the right look for every project.

Digital printing

We use digital printing when printing images or other more complex designs, such as those with gradations. It is a cost-effective printing method with certain limitations regarding the lifespan of products exposed to stress, such as during prolonged outdoor use. For such products, we recommend one of our other printing methods instead, such as screen printing or stencil printing.

Digital printing is done using a digital printer, which is essentially designed like a regular computer printer but is much larger and adapted for printing on fabric.

A high-resolution print file is required as the basis for digital printing.

Screen printing

Our screen prints are very durable because they offer good resistance to both abrasion and UV radiation. We therefore often use this method for products that will be used outdoors for many years. Screen printing is well-suited when a large number of relatively small, identical prints are needed, and with this method, we can print one or more colors.

When we screen print, we create one or more screen frames that can be reused virtually an unlimited number of times. One screen frame is needed for each color, since the colors must be printed separately. The ink requires a couple of days to cure before the products can be handled further. If the different colors are close together, each color must cure before the next color can be printed.

As a result, the turnaround time for screen printing is slightly longer, especially if the design includes multiple colors. It is not possible to achieve gradations with screen printing. If the design includes gradations, we recommend digital printing instead.

A vectorized print file, such as one in EPS format, is required as the source file for screen printing.

Screen printing

Our screen prints are very durable because they offer good resistance to both abrasion and UV radiation. We therefore often use this method for products intended for outdoor use over many years, such as canopies for hangar doors and warehouses.

Stencil printing is suitable for single or a small number of identical prints, which can even be quite large, and with this method we can print one or more colors. When we do stencil printing, we cut out one or more stencils using our digital cutting machine. One stencil is needed for each color, as the colors must be printed separately. The ink requires a couple of days to cure before the products can be handled further. If the different colors are close to each other, each color must cure before the next color can be printed.

This means that the turnaround time for printing will be slightly longer, especially if the print includes multiple colors. It is not possible to achieve gradations with stencil printing. If the material to be printed includes gradations, we recommend digital printing instead.

A vectorized print file, such as one in EPS format, is required as the source file for stencil printing.

Choosing technical textile

The choice of fabric material is crucial for the finished product’s functionality, durability, and lifespan. Different materials have unique properties such as strength, flexibility, weather resistance, chemical resistance, or UV resistance, and the choice of fabric is based on how and where the product will be used.
